1. Introduction
JukeBox Music Ltd is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all of our students and teachers. This safeguarding policy outlines our commitment to protecting the well-being and safety of individuals participating in our music education programs. As a mobile music school, we recognise the importance of maintaining high safeguarding standards, regardless of the learning location.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all students, teachers, staff members, volunteers, and anyone associated with JukeBox Music Ltd.
3. Principles
We are guided by the following principles:

Child-Centered Approach: The best interests of the child are paramount in all decisions and actions taken by JukeBox Music Ltd.

Respect and Dignity: All individuals will be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ability, or any other characteristic.

Clear Communication: Open and honest communication is essential to maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Concerns will be addressed promptly and sensitively.

Confidentiality: Personal information will be handled in line with applicable laws and regulations. Confidentiality may be waived if maintaining it compromises the safety of a child.

Appropriate Relationships: Teachers and staff must maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with students, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
4. Recruitment and Training

All teachers, staff, and volunteers working with students must undergo background checks, including police clearance.

Teachers and staff will receive safeguarding training aligned with the Cayman Islands' safeguarding protocols to recognise abuse, report concerns, and create safe learning spaces.
5. Reporting Procedures

Mandatory Reporting:
All individuals working with children are legally required under the Cayman Islands Children Act to report reasonable suspicions of abuse or neglect. Reports should be made to the designated Safeguarding Officer or directly to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).-

6. Code of Conduct

Teachers, staff, and volunteers must adhere to a professional code of conduct, promoting respectful and appropriate behavior.

A Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers will be provided during training.
7. Conducting Lessons Safely at Students' Homes
Parents/guardians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of home-based lessons.

Parents/guardians Must Provide a Suitable Teaching Location:
Designate a distraction-free zone with adequate lighting and temperature. In most cases. A child's bedroom is not appropriate. -
Presence of an Adult and Prohibition of Alone Time:
A parent/guardian or responsible adult must be present in the home during lessons, within earshot, and readily available to assist if needed. Children must never be left alone in the house with the teacher. -
Privacy and Boundaries:
Doors should remain open when the lesson is conducted in a non-communal space.
8. Lessons Conducted at Schools

Teachers will adhere to the host school's safeguarding policies and guidelines.

All incidents or concerns will be promptly reported to the school’s designated Safeguarding Officer or MASH.
9. Teacher's Right to Leave
Teachers have the right to leave a lesson if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable. It is expected that the teacher promptly reports the incident to the Safeguarding Officer, providing details of the circumstances that prompted their decision. Support will be provided to address concerns and create a safe teaching environment.
10. Record Keeping and Data Protection

Safeguarding records will be documented accurately and retained securely for a minimum of 6 years, or as required by law.

Records will only be accessible to authorized personnel.

Confidentiality will be maintained except when disclosure is required to protect a child.
11. Policy Accessibility
This policy will be made available on the company website and shared with all staff, volunteers, and parents.
12. Review and Compliance
Jukebox may conduct a policy review whenever necessary to ensure compliance with the Cayman Islands Children Act and any updates to safeguarding best practices. Students and/or guardians will be notified of any changes
